E-Unit Cycler Layout Ideas
Train Exchange
PRINT CLOSE

The Train Exchange layout idea has a passing siding with a reverse track on each end.

This layout idea has two independent reverse tracks and uses two track switches to create a passing siding between them. Each passing siding has an independent "Station Stop" track.

Two trains run on the layout, each waiting in a passing siding until the other train is also in its siding. Each train runs the full length of the layout.

The two E-Unit cyclers in Two E-Unit Cyclers mode control the Reverse and Station Stops. The Station Stop EUC cyclers are "Enable" controlled and cross-connected, with the isolated outside-rail for one cycler connected to the control input of the other controlled cycler. An EUC in Automatic Track Switch, Always Same Route, mode is used to operate each track switch.

A train moving from the left is always routed to the lower siding track and a train moving from the right is always routed to the upper siding track. When both trains are in passing tracks, they then proceed through the siding.
