| Lionel 395 Floodlight Tower | BACK |
The 395 Floodlight Tower lights train yards or industrial areas.
The Lionel 395 Floodlight Tower was made from 1949 to 1956. It was made in yellow, green, silver, and red painted and and unpainted aluminum versions.
The base is 5" x 5." The tower 11 3/4" high, making it a 1:48 scale model of a 47' high tower.
The base, ladder, tower, and light brackets are stamped sheet metal. Lamp housings are formed sheet metal.
The 395 comes with four 51 (7.5 volt) light bulbs. Recommended operating power is 12-16 volts. The lights are very bright, but don't last all that long if operated at 12-16 volts.
We recommend operating the accessory at 7-8 volts or replacing the bulbs with 363 bulbs. (Click bulb numbers for specifications.)
The tower frame and a rod in the center carry power to the light.
The Lionel 395 Floodlight Tower can be operated with Three-Rail Innovations' Universal Trackside Accessory Controller .
The Two-Relay Controller can operate the floodlights when a train is in any part of a yard, when a train is between track blocks, or when a train enters a track from just one direction.
The Two Lighting Relays controller can cycle the lights on and off in a day/night cycle or only turn them on when a train enters the yard and it is "night."
