A train stops at the station and men driving carts move to load and unload the train.
The Lionel 356 Operating Freight Station was available from 1952 to 1957.
The maroon plastic moulded base is 15" x 5". There is a lighted white plastic building with a green roof. Two baggage men on carts move in a metal track when the accessory is activated.
Variations include: roof shade of green; cart color, meduim green, dark green, orange, or red; with and without baggage loads; with and without billboards.
The building is lighted with a L431 14 volt bulb. (Click the number for bulb specifications.)
Electrical connections for the Lionel 356 Operating Freight Station are made to three fahnstock clips underneath the base. The clips are labeled A, B, and C. Clip C is common the the building light and vibrator motor that moves the baggage carts. Clip B connects to the light. Clip A connects to the motor.
The Lionel 356 Operating Freight Station can be operated with Three-Rail Innovations' Two Relay Controller . A number of different operating modes can be configured for more action or to compensate for isolated rail limitations.
The operating freight station implicitly operates when a train is stopped. Three-Rail Innovations' Two Relay Controller provides a "Train Stopped" feature specifically for this accessory.
